Comrades’ entries closing soon
Top overseas entries received are the United Kingdom, USA and Australia
WITH the closing date of 30 November fast approaching and fewer than 4 000 places available for the 2017 Comrades Marathon, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has announced that the entry process will soon come to a close.
Top overseas entries received are the United Kingdom, USA and Australia.
The CMA has also confirmed that nearly 30% of the entrants are novices, while a total of 2150 Green Number runners have entered.
The entry breakdown shows 14615 South Africans, 293 from the rest of Africa and 197 international entrants.
Provincially, Gauteng leads the South African entries with 7647, followed by KZN (2802), Western Cape (1631) and Mpumalanga (646).
Prospective Comrades’ runners are urged to enter before the entry process closes as it is expected that the 20000 entry cap will be reached before the cut-off date.
Entry fees for the 2017 Comrades Marathon are R460 for local entries, R770 for the rest of Africa and R2650 for international entries.
