WITH the festive season around the corner, KZN police are on a mission to ensure a safe festive period by ridding the streets of illegal guns.
Last month police seized 118 illegal firearms, including homemade guns and an assortment of ammunition, in various areas around the province.
More than 130 suspects were arrested. KZN Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa, applauded the good work, saying it will help ensure a safer festive season.
