BMW clients go back in time

Drivers had the opportunity to sample BMWs best on the 200km round trip

NATAL Motors in Empangeni took their BMW driving clients on a journey back in time last weekend.

The destination was Shakaland, the Zulu cultural village near eShowe, and to get there Natal Motors provided a fleet of BMWs.

By swapping cars at predetermined points, drivers had the opportunity to sample BMWs best on the 200km round trip.

At Shakaland the group was treated to a tour of the village, which was build in the 1980s as the set for the TV miniseries Shaka Zulu, in which the late Henry Cele portrayed the legendary Zulu king.

The village and all the live displays inside depict the Zulu nation’s rich history and traditions.

Pot making, grass weaving, spear making and the different dances and their meaning were shown to the group.

After a lunch in the restaurant overlooking the beautiful valley in which Lake Phobane, previously known as the Goedertouw dam, is lying, it was time to sample some of the grand BMWs again on the way back to Empangeni.

The road between eShowe and Gingindluvo with its many twists and turns was perfect for this exercise and drivers could really get a proper feel of each car’s dynamics.
