Market promotes small businesses
'We are looking to hold a food market, winter market and even a Christmas market'

A LOCAL country market was held at the Solid Ground Church just outside Empangeni this weekend.
Families of various cultures gathered for a morning of fun, laughter and engagement over food, drink, crafts and ornaments.
According to Lorraine Goodman, one of the organisers of the market, the aim is to create a healthy, safe and fun environment for community members to connect.
‘It is set in a lovely country environment and is all about community. We are trying to promote local crafters and give them exposure by supporting small businesses in Zululand.
‘We are 100% proudly South African and are calling on locals to get involved,’ said Goodman.
Another organiser, Mark Neumann, said that they are planning a number of markets in the coming weeks.
‘We are looking to hold a food market, winter market and even a Christmas market.
‘It’s all about growing the community and engaging with people.
‘Watch this space,’ said Neumann.
