A COLLISION between three vehicles on the R34 next to the KwaMagwaza turn-off, resulted in one fatality on Monday evening.
According to Melmoth’s Chief Traffic Officer Derek Horne, a light motor vehicle seemed to have lost control in the wet and slippery conditions and collided head-on with a truck at 6pm.
‘The car was found on the wrong side of the road,’ said Horne.
A bakkie behind the car was also involved in the accident.
Apart from the fatality, one person was critically injured, three seriously injured and two sustained minor injuries.
They were all taken to KwaMagwaza Hospital.
Lucky escape
Another collision between four vehicles on Tuesday morning resulted in only one minor injury on the N2 northbound just before the eSikhaleni off-ramp.
Drivers are urged to travel with caution on the wet roads.
