Drug walk team plans ahead
It was decided the 2017 walk will again be held on the first Saturday in September
DETERMINED to make every event better than the previous one, members of the SANCA/ Eyethu Bay Watch ‘Walk Away from Drugs’ committee met on Tuesday to review the highly successful 10th annual walk held on 3 September.
While some 1 200 people participated this year – the best attendance ever – a number of improvements were noted which, when implemented, will see this annual event become bigger and better.
With good reason, the volunteer committee patted themselves on the collective back after having worked long and hard to achieve the success.
SANCA director Shireen Sahadav exuded praise to the team for arranging what has become a major fund-raiser and awareness day for the organisation.
She also thanked Cubaña restaurant management for supplying the venue and wonderful eats at no charge and Mahendra Nagessur of the Engen Garage in Veldenvlei who kindly donated a meal voucher to all committee members.
