Fitness frolics at St Catherine’s

Seventy-two competitors pushed themselves at each station for one minute

LOCAL school athletes completed a series of 12 stations that tested their physical strength, endurance and hand-eye coordination at the annual St Catherine’s Supersport Challenge held on Thursday afternoon.

Seventy-two competitors pushed themselves at each station for one minute, trying to rack up as much repetitions as possible to add to their overall total.

The athletes competed in push-ups, skipping, medicine ball lifts, ropes, sit-ups, slope run, netball, suicides, hockey, tennis, running and star jumps.

Sagewood, Felixton College, St Catherine’s, Veldenvlei, Grantham Park Primary and Empangeni Christian School participated.

Results
Junior girls champion – Roxy Neumann (Felixton College).

Junior boys champion – Siyanda Gumede (Grantham Park Primary School).

Senior girls champion – Sarah Giles (St Catherine’s).
