Daylight robbery in Krewelkring

When her mother phoned the number, the man answered the phone

A WOMAN was robbed of her cellphone while walking in Krewelkring, Richards Bay early on Thursday morning.

The 20-year-old says she was nearing the Elweboog turn-off on the cement walkway when the suspect approached her and pushed her against a wall.

He demanded her phone which was in her handbag.

There were witnesses, but nobody rendered assistance.

She then handed the cell phone over and the suspect fled into the park near Elweboog and Dageraad.

When her mother phoned the number, the man answered the phone.

‘It sounded as if he was by then already in a crowd of people.’

The suspect is described as being about 1,8 m tall, slender and dressed in a leather jacket and dark cap.
