
A SUSPECT, Qinisela Sihle Ntini (32), has been found guilty of murder in the Mtunzini High Court.
On Friday, 23 September, Ntini was sentenced to six life terms for six counts of murder and a further 16 years for two counts of attempted murder.
He was convicted for killing four people and wounding another four.
Two of the injured victims died later in hospital.
During the investigations, a 9mm pistol with one live round was recovered.
The incident occurred on 1 January at about 7.30pm when the suspect was at home in the Dlebe area in Mahlabathini.
He was with his father, attending a family meeting about their cattle.
His father decided to call the neighbours to come and listen to what his son was saying as they had a misunderstanding.
While listening, the son allegedly produced a firearm and shot everyone in the house.
Four people, including the father, died instantly, while four seriously wounded were taken to hospital for treatment.
The deceased were Mandla Zungu, Fana Dlamini, Thamsanqa Ntshangase and the 59-year-old father of the suspect.
