EHS still on top of their game
Other Zululand schools also did supporters proud
EMPANGENI High School (EHS) again won the overall Best Marching Band title at the South African Marching Band and Concert Orchestra Championships (SAMBA) held at the school on Saturday.
The EHS band was also awarded the Neatest Field Band prize and placed second in the overall Best Concert Band, Marimba Group and Ensemble categories, followed by Grantleigh Schools in third. Hoërskool Waterkloof finished first.
EHS’s Justin Wiggel was named Best Drum Major.
Other Zululand schools also did supporters proud, with Arboretum Primary School winning the Best Primary School Marimba Group category, with Heuwelland Primary second and Mtunzini Primary third.
Grantleigh’s Marimba Band took home first prize in the High School category.
Hoërskool Durbanville was voted the Best Percussion Band, followed by EHS and Vryheid High, who was also named the Most Promising Band.
