‘Vellies’ athletes shine on the track

They achieved a number of outstanding results

VELDENVLEI Primary School athletes excelled at the KZNA League 2 athletics meeting held at Durban’s Kingspark Athletics Stadium.

They achieved the following results:
• Elré Koortzen – won the U13 girls shot put event with a distance of 9:91m.
• Thoeshan Naidoo – won both the boys U9 60m sprint in 9:06 seconds and the 80m sprint in 11:85 seconds.
• Welile Ndlovu – finished second in the U13 girls 200m sprint in 29:31 seconds.
• Ethan Cooper – second in the U9 boys 60m (9:51sec)
• Konke Myeni – second in the U11 boys 1 200m event with a time of 4:16:67.
• Nkanyiso Mngomezulu – second place in the U11 boys 70m hurdles event in 12:67 seconds.
• Amahle Mbatha – won the girls U11 80m event in 12:36 seconds and finished second in the girls shot put (8.82m).
• Kayleigh Naude – won the girls U11 70m hurdles in 14:15 seconds, won the U11 girls high jump event with a leap of 1:35m and placed second in the U11 girls long jump event (3.89m).
