LifeLine takes time off for wellness

Activities on the day included plenty of fun contests between groups

TAKING time off from their demanding daily schedules, staff of LifeLine Zululand enjoyed a Wellness Day function at the Zululand Yacht Club on Friday.

‘LifeLine’s mission and vision are to cultivate and promote emotional wellness in individuals and communities and we include our own staff in that,’ said LifeLine director Michelle Jewlal.

‘Keeping in line with our core business of promoting physical, emotional and spiritual well-being we engaged our own staff in a number of interactive items.

‘The programme included teambuilding activities as we are now close to 40 permanent and temporary staff, of which 13 are new staff through Aids Foundation South Africa funding.

‘The Department of Health supported the event and provided the mobile clinic service – testing and health risk assessments.

‘Input from Old Mutual on financial wellness saw excellent presentations by Siyabonga Wessels and Ayanda Mkhize and the rest of their team.

‘They covered saving habits vs spending habits and currently lifestyle choices vs saving for retirement, investing in children’s future, and so on,’ said Jewlal.

Activities on the day included plenty of fun contests between groups – a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other.
