EHS geared to defend national title
Marching bands to battle it out in Empangeni this Saturday

THE Empangeni High School marching band will defend their national title in Empangeni on Saturday.
They have won the title for six consecutive years, and this time have added home ground advantage challenging the other bands in their own backyard.
The SA Marching and Concert Band Championships will take place in Empangeni school hall and later move to the sports field.
Twenty-two bands from all over the country will compete in various categories.
The championships will include marching bands, concert bands, drum lines and marimba.
The main goal is to promote music among the youth.
‘We hope we will scoop the title for the seventh time and the public can expect a magical explosion from our band,’ said Empangeni High music teacher and culture organiser, Renier de Bruin.
The public is welcome to join and to offer their support for the local champs.
Entry is only R20. For more information about the championship contact Renier on 072 8556099.
