Thanda maintain unbeaten streak

Don't miss Thanda's two-game NFD outings this week

WITH a 1-1 away draw at Mbombela United on Saturday, Thanda Royal Zulu maintained their unbeaten start to the 2016/2017 NFD season.

A lapse in concentration just before the half time whistle saw them concede but star marksman Mhlengi Cele evened matters late in the second half for a well-deserved share of the spoils.

Cele will again be the man to watch this week as the Amabhubesi play their postponed Witbank Spurs game on Wednesday afternoon then host Real Kings on Sunday afternoon. Both fixtures will kick off at 3pm and should provide top notch entertainment.

A win against Spurs will propel Thanda to the top of the table and a repeat performance on Sunday will give both momentum and confidence in what has been their best start to a season to date. But Spurs have always proved hard to dominate and honours between the two clubs have been shared over the past few seasons.

Real Kings might prove to be softer targets. They have already conceded five goals in this campaign and Thanda will want to add to their misery.

Good fan support will of course be critical, and the way the lions of the King Cetshwayo District are playing should attract supporters in their droves.

For those who can wangle an hour or so away from work on Wednesday, there will be no better place to spend your time than the uMhlathuze Stadium.
