Golf school lessons at open day

MC Biyela and Gerald Sibiya won the Heuwelland Primary Golf Day

PARTNERS MC Biyela and Gerald Sibiya felt like ‘Golf School’ principals at the Heuwelland golf day at Empangeni Country Club on Saturday, handing out free lessons to competitors in trying circumstances.

The pair notched up a winning total of 45 points in rainy, wet and challenging conditions.

A total of 84 golfers grabbed their rain suits and umbrellas to participate in the day and followed a 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford format.

The greens were short and fast, which made putting vital to card good scores.

The fathers supporter group organised the event to raise funds for the Needy Children’s Fund at the school.

Funds go towards food, clothing, medical costs, among others.

‘It was a great turnout despite the weather conditions,’ said Heuwelland Principal Wynand Strydom.
