KwaDukuza receives skills development funding

A further R1-million will be used for skills development programmes

THE KwaDukuza Municipality has entered into an agreement with Group Five Construction Ltd to preside over the Avon Peaking Power Plant community fund to the value of R2.5-million, which will be utilized for training and skills development programmes in response to the needs of the construction industry, and for the benefit of local institutions that serve KwaDukuza communities.

An amount of R1.5- million has been allocated to the mayor to be used at his discretion to benefit institutions whose work impact directly on the lives of local communities.

A further R1-million will be used for skills development programmes such as welding, boiler making, construction supervision, plastering, industrial electrical engineering and plumbing.

The Avon Peaking Power Plant is an independent power project situated in Driefon.
