Two people died on the scene and a third person was critically injured after a collision between a tanker and VW Golf on the N2 near the eSikhaleni off-ramp on Sunday morning.
All three were passengers in the Golf, while the driver of the truck escaped serious injury.
Officials are investigating the cause of the accident, which took place at around 7am.
