MISS SA Schools’ finalist Asande Khumalo (17) took off her crown and rolled up her sleeves at Zamani Disabled Organisation in eSikhaleni on Thursday.
The young beauty queen of eSikhaleni conducted a spring-cleaning session as part of her community work.
Together with a group of friends, she swept the yard, cleaned all the rooms and washed dishes for the residents at the home.
‘I am part of this community and wanted to assist wherever I can,’ she said.
This Grade 11 pupil at Mdlamfe Secondary School was recently selected as a finalist, and the only one from this region.
She will represent the region and the province during the final showdown in the Northern Cape next month.
Asande is no stranger to the runway, she was crowned the Queen eSikhaleni first princess in June after a series of auditions.
During the pageant she made a huge impression and was approached to be the face of Jabotts International Co – a photography and modelling company.
