International planners to advise on city projects
Three developments have been earmarked for the local tour

THE uMhlathuze Municipality will present three of its proposed projects to experienced world planners visiting Richards Bay on Monday to obtain their expert input.
Members of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) are participating in technical study tours hosted in five KZN municipalities next week.
The ISOCARP network brings together individual and institutional members from more than 80 countries worldwide to improve planning practices through the creation of a global network of practitioners.
Developments earmarked for the local tour is the Richards Bay Steel Bridge Project, Empangeni CBD Revitalisation Plan and the uMzingwenya Settlement.
City mayor Mduduzi Mhlongo said he welcomes the opportunity to share the city’s vision with the ‘world’s best in the planning fraternity’.
‘We are looking forward to drawing from their experiences as our city is also taking another shape and changing its landscape for the better.
‘We have informed the public about the process of relocating our airport and grow it into a regional airport city, which will generate more economic activities.
‘We are also looking at reshaping our waterfront, as well as many other projects that will change our beautiful city’s landscape.’
