THE City of uMhlathuze has observed that in the past months there have been concerns raised about broken rubbish bins and the attitude of some of the staff manning the refuse removal trucks.
It is unfortunate that some of these allegations have not been brought to our attention.
It is important for the public to report these matters to our offices so that we can investigate and take action.
The public needs to give us detailed information, for example time, vehicle registration, date and so on.
We pride ourselves that in the past we have dealt with all the matters brought to our attention.
In some cases we have replaced the bins and dealt with ill discipline.
We understand that some of our people are using their democratic right of writing to the media, however it is important to let them know that it does not assist us in solving their challenges.
We are a caring government and believe in a principle of ‘Batho Pele’.
In the past year we have bought new advanced refuse trucks and we will continue to improve our refuse collection service.
