HIJACKERS caught two Empangeni residents unawares at the Durnford Road and President Swart Avenue intersection on Friday night.
At around 8.45pm, the pair stopped at the intersection with the car’s windows rolled down, when two armed men suddenly appeared on either side of the vehicle, instructing them to get out.
The hijackers told them to empty their pockets, assaulting one of them with the butt of his gun when faced with resistance, before making off with the vehicle.
