Hluhluwe parties meet over water crisis
The community experienced problems with brown water coming out of their taps a week ago
A GROUP of concerned residents in Hluhluwe convened a meeting with the uMkhanyakude District Municipality (UKDM) and Water and Sanitation Services South Africa (WSSA) last Tuesday to find ways of solving water shortages in the area.
This after the community experienced problems with brown water coming out of their taps a week ago and complaints that residents have been without water for weeks.
WSSA said the discoloured water was caused by silt being pumped into reticulation pipes because of low dam levels, but gave the assurance the water was fit for consumption.
