WEATHER WARNING: Heavy winds across KZN
Winds have already picked up strongly in Empangeni and Richards Bay
THE South African Weather Service has issued a warning of heavy winds along the east and north coast, from East London to Maputo.
‘A gale force south-westerly wind of 35-40KT (65-75km/h) is expected tomorrow,’ reads the warning on the weather service’s website.
While the warning is only for tomorrow (Tuesday), winds have already picked up strongly in Empangeni and Richards Bay this morning.
Light snowfall is also expected over the northern high ground of the Eastern Cape today.
‘Disruptive snowfalls, which may lead to road closures, are expected over western parts of Sisonke,western uMgungundlovu, western uThukela and western Amajuba today,’ the warning continued.
