Get ready for soapbox derby

Registration starts at 8am at the eShowe Junior School oval

IN just over a week the first eShowe Scouts soapbox derby will be taking place in Saunders Street in eShowe.
The racing is expected to start at 9am on Sunday, 28 August.

But there is more than just the fun of watching the soapboxes racing down the road.

There will also be a tea garden, tuck shop, stalls and other flea market-type goodies on offer.

For the children waiting for races there will be face painting, jumping castles, target shooting and pony rides.

Participants will be contesting the races in two soapbox categories and various age groups.

The disselboom category specifies a maximum of 16 inch wheels and no wheel bearings, while the wheel size is the same for F1, but wheel bearings are allowed.

Registration starts at 8am at the eShowe Junior School oval.

Details on soapbox specifications and designs can be obtained from Gus van Vuuren on 074 1833118 or gusvanvuuren@gmail.com.
