A skydive birthday bash

Veteran skydiver does it again - this time on his 70th birthday

A VETERAN skydiver with 270 dives under the belt, jumped once again, 45 years after his last adrenaline-packed descent, but this time with a partner.

Empangeni adventurer Carl Enslin celebrated seven decades on mother earth with a epic fall into thin air, when he jumped tandem with his novice daughter.

A veteran of the 60s and 70s, Carl says it was his best birthday bash ever.

‘I decided on my 69th birthday that if I am still around then, I will do one more skydive on my 70th birthday.

‘A few months ago I convinced my daughter Karen to do a tandem jump with me at the Durban Skydive Centre.’
So, D-Day arrived on 9 August.

‘We were both so excited – and nervous, because Karen had never skydived before and I not so sure what it would feel like to jump again after so many years.’
