Stabbed hitchhiker found on highway

POLICE are searching for a group of suspects who assaulted and robbed a hitchhiker near the N2 on Thursday afternoon.

The unidentified man was found lying unconscious on the John Ross Parkway near the N2 intersection around 11.30am with deep stab wounds in his chest.

It is believed the knife punctured his left lung, but paramedics were able to stabilise him at the scene and he was transported to Ngwelezana Hospital by EMRS paramedics.

No arrests have been made.
