Saints start on winning note

The visitors claimed revenge in the U15 match-up when they claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory

ST CATHERINE’S first girls soccer team got their 2016 season off to a winning start after beating eShowe High School 1-0 in a fixture played at St Catherine’s on Thursday.

The home team claimed an early 1-0 lead thanks to a great goal from Lusanda Paul in the first half.

eShowe played attacking football, but had no answer for the home side’s tight defence.

The visitors claimed revenge in the U15 match-up when they claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory.

The eShowe ladies came out playing short passes, putting players into space which resulted in two first half goals from Olwethu Mkhwanazi and Sinabo Mhlongo.

Ntokozo Mkhize scored the third in the second half.
