Thanda prepare for big season
NFD fixtures announced, but first it’s the Premier’s Cup

HAVING been in yo-yo mode for the past few years – either fighting for promotion or battling to avoid relegation – Thanda Royal Zulu FC have declared this a ‘do or die’ season in the National First Division.
They are more determined than ever to make it onto the big PSL stage and their early season training sessions and friendly matched have shown their resolve.
First game of the 2016/2017 season will be away to NFD newcomers Real Kings on 27 August, but they have the chance to hone their skills when the Premier’s Cup is hosted at the uMhlathuze Stadium next weekend, 13-14 August.
This prestigious competition among the KZN football giants sees the province’s two PSL sides, Maritzburg United and Golden Arrows, take on the four NFD outfits: Thanda, AmaZulu, Royal Eagles and new arrivals Real Kings.
The NFD quartet will fight it out on Saturday, with two teams advancing to Sunday’s final stage against the PSL boys.
Great news for Amabhubesi fans is that prolific goal scorer Mhlengi Cele is back in the fold and looking as sharp as ever after a detour to Chippa United.
