EFF likely to play kingmaker in Mtubatuba and Jozini
Close-run results could force coalitions to decide municipal control
PARTIES vying for control of Mtubatuba Municipality in the uMkhanyakude District have been thrown a curve ball with the results being declared a draw.
The ANC and IFP have both won 18 seats.
The EFF with one seat and the DA with two will play kingmaker, with possible coalitions deciding the fate of Mtubatuba residents.

The race for Jozini Municipality is also extremely close.
With 96% of the vote counted, the ANC leads with 48.43% with the IFP close behind with 46.24 and the EFF looking likely to play a vital role in deciding who will lead the municipality with 1.98% of the vote.
The IFP has already claimed Hluhluwe/Somkele (previously Big Five False Bay and Hlabisa municipalities) after attracting 52.25% of the against the ANC’s 43.31%.
Meanwhile, the ANC has secured Umhlabuyalingana Municipality with 58.29% of the vote against the IFP’s 27.94%.
