Freak death of truck driver

JUST minutes after he bade a friendly farewell to colleagues prior to leaving for Durban, a truck driver died tragically on Friday in a freak accident in Alton.
The unnamed, elderly driver had reportedly been in good health and fine spirits when he left, but his journey was a short and fatal one.
After seemingly suffering a heart attack, he died behind the wheel after the truck ploughed through a fence and unto a greenbelt in Kraft Link.
Onlookers and rescue works who were quickly on the scene were unable to revive the victim.
Police are investigating reports that the incident may have been linked to the actions of a VW Golf driver just prior to the accident.
