Double take for Mtunzini Rotary

IT was a case of ‘more of the same, thank you’ for the fledgling Mtunzini Rotary Club when Gideon van der Merwe was re-elected as President for the 2016/17 year.
Doing the induction honours was Empangeni Rotary President Glynn Harboth, who thanked Gideon for his commitment and his willingness to take on this huge task for a second year.
As the focus now shifts from being ‘Gifts to the World’ to the new theme, ‘Rotary Serving Humanity’, Gideon will have as his trusted Board committee Errol Sclanders, Penny Bunting, Pegs Sclanders, Sarina van Heerden and Kim Perry, as they strive to help and serve the community.
Sarina was honoured with the prestigious Rotarian of the Year award for her efforts which exemplified the fundamental Rotary principle of ‘Service above Self’.
Mtunzini Rotary also had the pride and privilege of inducting two new members in Takkie Rademeyer and Monica Marnewick, who were warmly welcomed into the fold.
