MERCEDES-BENZ owners and staff at McCarthy Inyanga Empangeni competed in the annual Mercedes Trophy golf day at the Richards Bay Country Club on Thursday.
Seventy-six players teed off to a shotgun start and followed an IPS format over 18 holes.
Players competed in three divisions – the A Division (handicaps 0-8), B Division (handicaps 9-16) and C Division (handicaps 16-36).
The three division winners will go to Mauritius in August to compete in the national finals and for a spot in the world finals to be played in Stuttgart, Germany in September.
Lourens Gouws took the honours in the A Division with 37 points and Ivan Reddy took the B Division with 44 points.
Pieter Bester claimed the C Division title with 40 points.
