Uniting youth through sport
This year the annual event hosted by Tongaat Hulett was attended by esteemed representatives of the South African Football Association and the Mandeni Local Municipality.

SPORTING fever gripped the Macambini Sports Ground with amateur football teams challenging each other in the fifth Macambini Sport Day.
The Real Knockers U17 and Macambini Football Club (FC) seniors were declared overall winners of the nail-biting tournament.
In 2012 Tongaat Hulett, in partnership with Simamisa and the Macambini Tribal Authority, invested R1.1-million towards the renovation of a sports ground in the area and launched the Macambini Sport Day on Youth Day.
This year the annual event hosted by Tongaat Hulett was attended by esteemed representatives of the South African Football Association (SAFA) and the Mandeni Local Municipality.
One of the objectives of the event is to scout for young talent.
Sanele Ndlovu of Real Knockers and Sibusiso Khumalo of Revolution FC were among the players selected for the Lamontville U17 team.
Senior striker Sphelele Magubane and goalkeeper Thami Shandu were identified for further development.
At the event, a wide range of training and development opportunities for local coaches, youth and players were highlighted by the SAFA representatives.
Tongaat Hulett and the Macambini Traditional Council have committed to engaging further with the SAFA representatives to ensure a robust programme is developed for 2017.
