Empangeni’s pothole problem

The streets of Empangeni are lined with deep potholes and require immediate attention

THE majority of roads in Empangeni’s residential areas are in serious need of a facelift, a quick survey conducted by the Eyethu Bay Watch has found.

On a weekly basis, this newspaper receives at least two complaints about road conditions in and around Zululand, and a number of complaints recently focused on the suburbs in Empangeni.

The following roads, excluding the main roads, which are currently undergoing repairs, were examined – Neil Armstrong, Richard Gordon, Conrad, Gemini, Sigma, Apollo, Intrepid, Bryden, Durnford, Kelly, Short, Louis Botha, Pearce, Union, Turnbull, Moberley.

Eighty percent of these roads had one or more areas that required maintenance work.

The photographs have been sent to the relevant ward councillors for their attention.
