A LITTLE more than three years after being arrested for the murder of his wife, John Edward ‘Johnnie’ Frara’s case is finally ready for arguments to be heard.
Following another postponement last week, 21 June has now been set for arguments by the prosecution and defence to be heard at the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court.
Frara was arrested and charged with murder following the death of his wife, prominent dance teacher Carolyn Lathwood Frara, in their Empangeni home in April 2013.
It is alleged the couple were involved in an argument in their kitchen after Carolyn returned from a dance practice.
She was stabbed multiple times with a knife and died at the scene.
The case has been postponed on a number of occasions for several reasons, including the need for Frara’s attorney Johan van der Westhuizen to peruse state documents, Van der Westhuizen falling ill, a psychiatric evaluation on Frara at Fort Napier Hospital to be concluded, the reports of which were delayed for months.
