Think pink, think awareness

80 ladies from various churches attended the Pink Rain event to support CANSA awareness month

IN commemoration of Cansa awareness month, 80 ladies from various churches attended the Pink Rain event, which was held on 5 October at the Richards Bay Yacht Club.

‘Pink Rain’ was hosted by Women in God’s Service Ministry (WING), which is part of the Richards Bay Baptist Church.

Guest speaker Debby Botes, who is currently in remission and author of ‘But I am with you’, shared her story about her recent mastectomy and reconstruction of one breast. Her testimony inspired both those facing the same trails as well as their support systems.

With the Richards Bay Baptist Church losing four of their beloved members to cancer this year alone, Botes also spoke about the importance of cancer patients’ ‘support systems’, which include family, spouses and friends.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!

  1. What an honour it was to tell my Story of Hope to the ladies at Wings – each one at their own point of coping! So much love from Debby Botes
