Shot fired in shopper brawl

TWO men involved in a brawl just outside Sanlam Shopping Centre in Empangeni caused a huge commotion in the mall’s car park on Wednesday afternoon.

During the fight, a gunshot was fired, alarming nearby motorists and car guards. It was reported by the car guards who witnessed the scenario unfold that the two shoppers were involved in a heated argument as they walked out of the entrance near Top Classic and NWJ, this led to one of the men pulling out a gun and shooting at the ground.

The man he was fighting with escaped by running away down a nearby street. The man with the gun then picked up the shell from his bullet and fled.

There was no blood shed during the shooting and it is still unknown what the fight was about.
