I READ with interest the letter ‘Blanket water limit is not a fair deal’ in your ZO of 25 April.
D Wyngaard writes that it is not fair for larger families to be handed the same water limit on their household as singles, or couples.
I am in a similar situation and care for several of my relatives.
We do not work, so all ablutions including washing, bathing and toilet use are carried out under my single roof.
How can it be fair to fine me – a pensioner – for exceeding the same water use as my neighbour who lives alone and works all day, six days a week?
I will simply have to fill my buckets from his tap to ensure that I am not crippled by water fines that are not fairly implemented.
I would also appreciate some comment from an official on this matter, as I presume the City has not yet responded to the queries they have received.
