LESS than a week after his first appearance in the Empangeni Regional Court, Thomas Sarajee was found guilty of hijacking and possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
In October 2015 Sarajee held up and hijacked the owner of a Polo in eSikhaleni, robbing him of his keys, wallet and cellphone.
Two further charges were added to his sheet after he was found in possession of a 9mm pistol and live ammunition upon his arrest in November last year.
The court found the 37-year-old Mtunzini man guilty of all three charges and sentenced him 10 years imprisonment for hijacking and five years for the possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
