POLITICAL intimidation is once again rearing its head in Mtubatuba as police officers investigate death threats against the Municipal Manager (MM).
Mtubatuba detectives opened a conspiracy to murder case last week after the MM reported to have received a whatsapp message from an unknown number earlier this month.
The message stated that her life, as well as the lives of her family, would be in danger if she did not resign from her job and leave town.
This, coupled with a suspicious vehicle following her at close range on the N2 last month, prompted her to report the incident to the police.
The MM could not be reached for comment.
