Darts semi-final spots already cemented
SMEE, Empangeni Rugby Club (ERC), Darts Casters and Casa Nietos have muscled up enough points to make the final four.
WITH just one round of games left before the semi-finals of the Empangeni Darts Sports League, all four semi-final spots have already been cemented after Wednesday night’s fixtures.
SMEE, Empangeni Rugby Club (ERC), Darts Casters and Casa Nietos have muscled up enough points to make the final four.
ERC did not take any prisoners on Wednesday evening, taking just 45 minutes to whitewash Undertakers 6-0 at ERC.
Darts Casters beat Umoya Lounge 6-3 at Casa Nietos, with Casa Nietos beating the Rhinos 6-1 at ERC.
Lapa Boys managed to pull a surprise result, drawing 5-5 with SMEE at Hullets.
That game had many highlights, which included SMEE captain Mike Bekker throwing nine triples in two games and partner Herman Steyn hitting numerous numbers to win all their team games.
But an overall polished performance from Lapa Boys forced the draw.
The last round of the season to be played on Wednesday evening will see a double-header at Casa Nietos, when Darts Casters take on the Rhinos and Casa Nietos take on Umoya Lounge.
It will be a top-of-the-log clash when SMEE takes on ERC at ERC.
Lapa Boys will entertain Undertakers at Hullets.
The semi-finals will be played on Wednesday, 27 April, with the final being played on Wednesday, 4 May.
The new league will start on 1 June.
