Grooming himself for a life in the public eye
Although still at school, the young starlet has already made a name for himself in and around Mtubatuba, primarily from his hobby as an events organiser and host.
WITH dreams of becoming an entertainer or famous TV personality, Bhekabasembo Christian Mkhize of KwaMsane in Mtubatuba has already got the ball rolling for a career in the spotlight.
Although still at school, the young starlet has already made a name for himself in and around Mtubatuba, primarily from his hobby as an events organiser and host.
‘I love people. Being famous is not an easy life because you have to live for people. You have to smile, socialise with and love people, and be an example and inspiration to those who wish to be in the same industry,’ said Bhekabasembo.
‘I am that person right now. I host events to give back to the communities, I visit people and motivate them and I get the youth together to make a difference in our communities.’
Among the events Bhekabasembo has recently hosted are Miss KwaMsane Junior, Miss Ladybird, Miss Teddy Bear, a poetry evening and a special Valentine’s event.
He is currently putting together Mtuba’s Got Talent, which will be held in June. Assistance from local businesses for prizes is welcomed.
After much moving around and attending numerous schools in the region, Bhekabasembo is finally settled at Nkodibe Secondary School where he is enjoying the subjects he always wanted to do, including dramatic arts, music, visual arts and history.
Even during his tender years at primary school, Bhekabasembo was the pupil who pulled everyone together.
As secretary of the Soul Buddyz Club at Zitike Primary School, Bhekabasembo was responsible for organising such events as cleaning the school, planting trees and vegetables, and helping others.
With a TV presenting audition already under his belt, Bhekabasembo knows what he wants from life and is not afraid to go out and get it.
‘All that I do, I do to give back to the communities and encourage the talented youth of Mtubatuba to become prosperous.’
‘A tip I always give the youth is, don’t look for a life in the public eye if you don’t have time for the public.’
