WITH his second five wicket haul in as many matches, Chad Neuhoff spun RH Construction uThungulu to an easy win over Delta at Addison Park on Sunday.
The Castle Premier League 50-over match was done and dusted by the lunch break after the visitors only managed an inadequate 110 all out in 33.2 overs.
The effervescent Neuhoff’s figures of 9.2-2-19-5 combined accuracy with economy and proved far too hot for the Delta batsmen to handle.
Steph Joubert bagged 2/18 in 10 and scored 28 runs in an opening stand of 38 with Eugene Zwart (17), and with Grové Venter (17) and Ruaan van Rensberg (27 not out) contributing, uThungulu made short work of chasing down the target to win by six wickets.
After 17 matches, RH Construction uThungulu are tied with Pinetown on 58 points and the two sides will meet at Addison Park on Sunday, 3 April to fight it out for supremacy.
Although there is no hope of reigning in perpetual league winners Crusaders (66 points), this continues to be one of the best seasons for local cricketers.
