Gospel artist broadens his horizon
Esikhaleni gospel artist, Sikhumbuso Mbuyazi launches new album
ZULULAND’S home-grown gospel talent, Sikhumbuso Mbuyazi aka Ckhumbuzo M, launched his second music album Mkhululi wami during an all-night prayer event at Moses Mabhida Stadium earlier this month.
The 34-year-old eSikhaleni artist, who is a sales executive at Ritchie Ford, started his professional music career in 2011 and has been in great demand, performing at numerous events across the country, especially in Johannesburg.
Like many gospel artists, Mbuyazi’s love for singing started in church and fuelled his passion to pursue a career in the music industry.
He started his own recording company, PBOG Music Productions, and has signed some local artists.
‘My music is predominantly gospel, but I ventured into a different culture of music – Afro pop and hip hop in one of my tracks in which I feature local artist Londiwe Sibande.
With performances lined up around the country, Mbuyazi has had to work smart to jungle all his roles, which include being a father to four young children and an active member in his church ministry.
He also hosts a motivational talk show on Zululand FM every Saturday from 8.30pm to encourage the youth on relationships.
Mbuyazi believes that people can create their own time, especially for the things they love and enjoy.
‘I love music, my children and being involved in the church and try to balance them along with my full-time job.
His new CD is available at the Christian Bookshop in the Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre or one can contact him on 073 1329599.
