Task team effort pays dividends

Cops effect valuable successes

NUMEROUS successes were notched up over the past week by the Small Craft Harbour-based SAPS Sea Borderline Control task team unit, including the recovery of nine illegal firearms.

Operating in the Hlabisa area last Monday after receiving information, they took possession of a 9mm pistol, a rifle and a home-made weapon, together with live rounds, and arrested three suspects.

In a separate operation, a 9mm Norenco pistol with magazine and ammunition was recovered.

One female was arrested in Nhlabane the following day and charged with possession of dagga.

On Wednesday, a white Toyota Conquest linked to house robberies was also apprehended and two suspects were charged.

A number of suspected stolen items were found in the car.

Following a business robbery in eShowe on the same day, a vehicle was recovered and a suspect arrested.

On Sunday, a male was arrested in Empangeni after he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
