Empangeni lifesavers perform at provincial champs
Lifesaving Club members achieved top results at the Lifesaving KZN Masters Championships
EMPANGENI Lifesaving Club members Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Daniel Lubanyana, Lindani Dube, Patrick Maloney, Lucas Masinga, Cyril Mkize, David Ravenscroft and Thulani Nzama achieved top results at the Lifesaving KZN Masters Championships held at Battery Beach in Durban over the weekend.
Results
• In the 30 to 40 age group, Ngcobo won the 2km beach run, finished third in the beach flags race, fourth in the beach sprint, sixth in the board race and eighth in surf swim.
• Lubanyana (35 to 39 age group) – third in 2km beach run, third in the beach relay and beach sprint, second in the board race and fourth in surf swim.
• Masinga (30-34 years age group) – fourth in the 2km beach run, ninth in beach flags, third in the beach sprint, eleventh in the board race and sixth in surf swim.
• Ravenscroft (30-34 yrs) – fourth in beach flags, fifth in the board race and fourth in the surf swim.
• Nzama (30-34 yrs) – second in the 2km beach run, won the beach flags, second in the beach sprint, third in the board race, second in the iron man category and second in single ski.
• Mkize (30-34 yrs) – eighth in the 2km beach run, eighth in beach flags, third in the beach relay and tenth in the surf swim.
• Maloney (30-34 yrs) – fifth in beach flags and seventh in surf swim.
• Dube (35-39 yrs) – eighth in beach flags, third in the beach relay, fourth in the beach sprint, fourth in the board race and seventh in surf swim.
