Early swimming form proves positive
Swimmers did well at the NKZN Age Group Gala at the Arboretum Town Pool
SWIMMERS (80) eased through the water showing early form in the first Northern KZN (NKZN) Age Group Gala for the 2013/14 season, which was hosted by the uShaka Swimming Club at the Arboretum Town Pool on Saturday.
Competitors made waves as they sped through the pool to get seeding times for the up coming National level 1, 2, 3 and Senior Nationals in March/April 2014.
uShaka, Fish Eagles, Vryheid and Seagulls swimming clubs were present at the gala.
‘Seeing such form early on in the season is promising for the swimmers as they will peak mid-season and should set great times. So much healthy competition between the swimmers only benefits the sport and individuals. It was great to see camaraderie and friendships both in and out the pool,’ said uShaka Swimming Club Records Officer, Shirley Davidson.
The next Age Group Gala will take place on 9 November at the Arboretum Town Pool.
The NKZN Short Course Championships will take place in Vryheid from 1-2 November.
