Government vehicle hijacked

No one was injured in the incident and the hijackers made off with the vehicle.

THREE people travelling in a KZN Department of Agriculture and Environment Affairs vehicle were hijacked near Ndundulu on Friday, 12 February.

The white Toyota Hilux (KZN 37171) was travelling between Nkwalini and Melmoth when it was stopped at 7.30pm.

No one was injured in the incident and the hijackers made off with the vehicle.

It appears that government vehicles are being targeted in the R66, R34 and P230 area, where a number of vehicles have been stolen over the last few months.

The most recent before the Ndundulu incident, being on the P230 between eShowe and Empangeni.

Motorists have been warned to be vigilant when driving these roads, especially in the early morning and evening.
