
ON Tuesday evening, at the Pep Store near the level crossing in Mtubatuba, staff and management fell victim to armed robbers who held them up at closing time.
The incident occurred just before 5pm when staff were preparing to close the store.
Three unknown suspects held them up at gunpoint and ordered them to lie down on the floor.
The manager was taken to the office by one of the robbers who demanded money.
An undisclosed amount of money was stolen during the robbery before the criminals fled the scene.
No arrests have yet been made and no one was injured during the incident.
Mtubatuba detectives have opened a case of business robbery for investigation.
They have asked for any witnesses or anyone who knows anything about the robbery or suspects to contact Mtubatuba Station Commander, Colonel Mngomezulu, on 035 5506119 or the Crime Stop number 08600 10 111.
