Police clean up the streets

IN attempt to curb the increasing crime wave, eSikhawini police conducted a stop and search roadblock in eSikhaleni on Thursday.

The police were on the lookout for illegal weapons and cigarettes, drugs, stolen properties and stole cars.

‘This campaign is ongoing, because we want to stop any criminal activities in this area.

‘We aim to shut down all the drug dealers who distribute whoonga and dagga to our children.

‘These drugs are a major contribution to the crime,’ said team leader, Capt Dumsani Mhlongo.

‘We also looking for drunken drivers, and this is part of our programme to eliminate road accidents,’ he said.
